Jim Calder
Born: 1960
Jim Calder signed for Inverness Thistle in 1980 and initially played in either midfield or as a forward. In fact in season 1982-83 he finished as top scorer for the club. Jim though is best known as a goalkeeper and he played in this role for Inverness Thistle for the majority of his career at Kingsmills Park. Jim was still between the sticks in Inverness Thistle's last game against Lossiemouth in 1994.
After a successful career at Kingsmills Park where he won a complete set of northern medals Jim played for Inverness Caledonian Thistle where his prowess and personality was equally admired by a new set of fans many of them who had been supporters of local rivals Caledonian. He made 195 appearances for ICT playing in the third, second and first divisions of the Scottish League before stepping down in 2001.
Amazingly in 1985 Jim was an outfield substitute for Inverness Thistle in the 4th round Scottish Cup defeat by Celtic at Parkhead and 15 years later was the jubilant keeper for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the club's 3rd round Scottish Cup victory over Celtic at the same ground.
