Kingsmills Park
Inverness Thistle played at Kingsmills Park for nearly 100 years. The ground was located on Kingsmills Road in the Crown area of the town and consisted of a main stand and a covered enclosure opposite. The remainder of the ground was open terracing. Floodlights were installed at the ground for the first time in 1972 and upgraded in 1973.

On the outbreak of the second world war the original wooden stand burnt down and during the war the pitch was used as a camp for, among others, Polish soldiers. The pitch, which was known to have one of the best surfaces in Highland League football, was re-laid after the war and included a new drainage system. Finally in 1951 a new 600 seater stand was constructed.

Over the years Kingsmills Park hosted many Cup Finals and League Select games, as well as playing host to numerous Scottish League teams for Scottish Cup ties, friendlies and testimonials. Fittingly Inverness Thistle's last game was played at the ground on Saturday 14th May 1994 but unfortunately the team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Lossiemouth.

The ground was sold in 1994 to Mr Hugh MacRae and company for £486,000 and was developed into residential properties and a nursing home. The floodlights and the 'tin shed' enclosure are still in use today at the ground of Wick Academy FC who joined the Highland League for the 1994 - 95 season.

Kingsmills Park though can still be found in the record books as the venue of the most postponed Scottish Cup tie (29 times!) before a second round game (v Falkirk FC in 1979) could go ahead.
